The Cage

Do you feel like you’re locked in a cage?!
It’s steel metal rods are getting in the way.
You can’t find the keys that’ll open the door,
And yet you hope for a miracle that’ll help you out one day.

It’s like there are rules that the metal holds,
You are well-behaved but sometimes you want more.
You feel like you’re just acting and you’re not being yourself,
You want to break free and you know exactly what for.

You want to be rebellious and break rules,
Because they say “rules are made to be broken”.
You want to be less afraid of doing your own thing,
And let your wild heart run free and not say what has already been spoken.

And so you continue to search for the key,
And wait some more thinking that waiting will bring you the miracle.
Instead you should stop just break the rodes and tear down the metal door,
Because waiting all your life isn’t what you’ve been asking for and it’s only getting more visible.
